Have you ever watched ‘3 Idiots’? Do you remember Farhan? ‘3 Idiots’ is a film from bollywood which told about Three Indian students who study in Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). They are Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and Ranchhoddas "Rancho" Shamaldas Chhanchad (Aamir Khan). Farhan is studying engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish — to become a wildlife photographer. Raju is studying to get his family out of poverty. On the other hand, Rancho studies for his simple passion in machines. Rancho believes that one should follow excellence, not success, as success will take care of itself if excellence is followed. During their studying, Rancho always gets good scores because he interested in machine very much, so he dedicates his life for everything related to machine. On the other hand Farhan and Raju are the always in the bottom of the score list because Farhan learns something that actually he doesn’t like because his soul is actually in photographer, not machine, and Raju is someone who full of hesitancy. Actually this only a film in which maybe many people don’t believe in the whole action done by the actors. But if people pay attention to this film carefully, there is much knowledge and experience can be taken. In this article, I want to discuss about the knowledge I get from this film the is about the choice of field to study in which anybody needs to choose field of study based on their interesting, not because of their parents’ wishes as done by Farhan in that film.

Taking a field of study based on interesting is very important for students to master the subject easily. It is because they will dedicate their whole life to what they learn so they will try to find the solution for all problems they found in the process of their studying without any compulsion from anybody else. They will aware by themselves to do their responsibility as students because they feel that their subject is their life. They will not satisfy if cannot solve the problem completely. This condition can be seen in the personality of Rancho in the film above. It is not hard for him to every problem related to machine because it is his soul. He can finish the remote controlled helicopter designed by Joy Lobo his senior easily because he likes machine very much so it is an interesting thing for him even though for other people it is a very hard job.

On the other hand, for those who take a field for studying not because they interested in that field, will be difficult for them to solve the problems they found. It is because they study in that field but their soul is not there. Their souls are the place where they interested in. this condition can be seen in the personality of Farhan which is told in the film above. Farhan takes engineering as his field of study not because of his wishes, but because of his father’s wishes him to be an engineer. It caused him not focus in his studying because his soul is not in machine. He mostly does anything related to the photography of wildlife because he wishes to be a photographer of wildlife. Besides failed in machine, he also almost lost his interested thing. Fortunately he met Rancho who guide him back to his willingness and help him to explain to his father about his willingness.

After watching this film, I guess that many failures faced the students in their studying is not absolutely because of their laziness or folly, but it mostly because of the wrong field of study they choose. Many parents are very clever in looking at the opportunity for getting job, so they ask their children to take the field of study based the most needed without thinking about the ability and the willingness of their children. Taking a field of study based on the opportunity in the field is not wrong, but the ability and the wishes of someone must be given the most priority. Mistaken in choosing field of study have bad impacts for the students in develop their knowledge. Moreover many of them cannot continue their studying because they don’t like what they learn. What they learn is different from what in their heart. It will make them not enjoy with the lessons they learn and they decided to stop.

I think it is very important for parents to pay attention to their children development, in which looking carefully about what their children interested in mostly so they don’t make mistakes in choosing field of study for them. It is better if the children are given opportunity to decide their own field of study and the parents just support them. About their job in the next, I think if they master their field very well as a result of their desire to that field, it is not hard for them to find any job. Moreover they can create jobs related to their ability in their field not only for themselves, but also for the other people have related field of study.

I think let the children to make their own choice in take their field of study based on what they interested in will give them more feeling to responsible about the field the choose in which they have no reason to blame other people such as parents and so on if they find problems in their studying because it is their own choice. It will make them try more to find the solution of that problem. Automatically they don’t abandon to solve it because it is their willingness. It is something that will give them feeling of satisfying if they can find the problem. Also they will face the problem happily because they enjoy with it.

At the end of this article, I would like to invite all of us, whether the parents, children as students, and the other people who involve in education to take appropriate field of study. What I mean here is the field of study chosen needs to something that the students interested in because it will help them to develop well in their studying. THE FATE OF WOMAN IN THESE DAYS

Women are the main subject of discussion in recent years. Everywhere the gender issues are reverberated to demand the equality of rank as God’s creature in the world. Somehow, why the act of women’s despising still occur until the time being? Is it caused by the cultural factors that still dominate or is there no awareness of the people who oppress the weak?

From the beginning women are created to receive then noble duty of God as custodian of the growth or widely known as the chain of life. The role as a mother is a wonderful thing. Mother can be pregnant, give birth and raise children. The role of women as mothers has been included in the co-workers with God in heaven to give love and education to their children which is also the heir to the kingdom of heaven.

Discussion on women and the many issues surrounding their lives are not likely to ever disappear from the scene of life of our society. Dynamics of a series of episodes surrounding the life always become a special topic for discussion. While we look back at Kartini era women's rights fought for equality in society. RA Kartini as a warrior woman's emancipation movement has raised the dignity of women from the ground is seen as being No.2. Fact that the woman's life journey is still a lot of experienced the dark side. Classical problems not much different from what happened in the past still happened to them as rape, sexual abuse, domestic violence assault, etc...Of all these cases, more women are victims.

NTT is one of the provinces where the level of violence against women is still very high. The cases of violence against women in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) during the period 2009 to September 2011, was reaching1580 cases; Based on the results of investigations carried by NTT Police on Friday (16/10/11).  Cases of violence against women in the province is generally because the issue of social construction and social hierarchy in society. In addition, cultural, liquor, economic pressures, another ideal man and the other woman's dream and temperament although NTT society.

The most detrimental consequences for women who are victims of violence is the impact on mental health conditions. The impact is especially pronounced in female victims of sexual violence. In the act of rape, for example, this was attacked by the female body. However, that destroyed the entire identity of the woman's physical health, mental, psychological, and social. Domestic violence is usually a chronic occurrence in a woman's domestic life. Physical injury can be cured after treatment, but the mental psychological injury (such as insomnia, depression, and various forms of psychosomatic up with suicidal ideation) will always be open again at any time. The most difficult psychological impact is the loss of confidence restored to themselves and others. There was also a tendency for people to always blame the victim. This is influenced by the people who always want to look harmonious. In fact, although the incident was reported, efforts to protect victims and punish the perpetrators of violence often fail. The condition occurs due to domestic violence, particularly  against women, never considered the issue of human rights violations. Though domestic violence is actually a crime against  individuals  and communities that perpetrators should be punished, but it is difficult to handle (outside) because it considered the internal affairs of the household. Economic trouble experienced by the family plantation workers led to women's must plunge into labor. Women, who put family as the first part, tend to try hard to keep their family. Thus, society already, especially in rural areas still have a wide view that women are being number two. This implies the difficulty women have access to life-like access to land, capital, and financial.

Along with the development of science, finally the time is changed. Paradigm shifts, women who had just placed in the back, now have the same roles as men. They can be leaders and have the same rights and the role of a man without changing its nature as a woman. The role of women is very important, because in their poverty reduction is believed to have more sensitivity than the men in the economic and social. The views that women are weak creatures are erased. Now they have an equal role with men, starting from the upper levels of society, until the bottom level. Political world that was no women before buy they are already starting to believe that real women can too.

As we know, women had arisen from the ground up. They have started to get involved in organizations to help other who still trapped as victims of abuse and violence. For example, is the on March 8, 2012, that coincides with the anniversary of women worldwide, many women's organizations staged a demonstration to demand the government's attention to their rights ignored? Other examples are in Kupang, already available "House of Women” which is a place for women to complain about the problems faced relating to abuse and violence they experienced.

As women, we should proud that even though not all women get the rights properly, but some of us have started to raise the dignity of women. Wise sentences teach us to reflect our self about the existence of woman (Korrie Layun Rampan. Wanita di Jantung Kota Jakarta, Grasindo- Jakarta.2000); the woman is the epitome of gentleness weakness; symbol of the earth that grows rice and vegetables of all physical food; the woman is a symbol of love; love to dance on the plains of the heart, and love to wander in the whole blood in the veins, is not she? She is the music which was picking a singing by herself, who reveals a long story, as if the song is sung in the dawn of a flock of birds that contains the sun. Why does she may be brutalized? Because she is waiting for softness. A woman's heart is a deep secret that cannot be measured in how much depth.

MORALITY EDUCATION FOR THE YOUNGER

Metro TV Sunday, October 21^st 2012 reported that the police In Samarinda handled two cases of immoral videos which acted by Junior High School students. These cases show that the students nowadays have lost their good moral. Many of them involved in free community which guiding them into the wrong way that is able to break their future. Many of them think and act like adults and do what they shouldn’t do. The cases reported above are only some examples of many other related cases which happened not only in Samarinda, but also in almost all area in Indonesia. For example in Kupang, our beloved City, many students cannot continue their studying because of accidents. They were pregnant before finishing their studying which forced them to marry early.

The cases above are impacted by the failure of morality education. There are three environments that take the most important role of the development of the younger’s morality. The three environments are environment of family, environment of school and environment of society. If the younger are failed to be guided to the right way in these three environment, it is really difficult help them from the darkness. The failure of education toward the younger nowadays in these three environments becomes the most influence thing to the bad characters of the younger which caused them do the immoral things. Let’s see the explanation about the three environments below:

The first environment which affected the younger morality is family. It takes very important role of the younger starting from their childhood. It is an environment that gives foundation of the character of the younger. In this environment, the younger in which the children get their first education from their parents. If the foundation of character given by the parents is good, then the children are able to develop well in character because they have good base. On the other hand, if there is no good education in their childhood from their parents, it is really difficult to guide them in the step of education.

The situation nowadays shows that many parents are so busy, so almost there no time for them to teach or giving attention to the behaviour of their children. They spend all their time for working in order to get money as much as possible. They forget that their children are far more important than their jobs so they forget to pay attention to the character development of their children. Many of them ask baby sitter to take care of their children. Unfortunately many baby sitters don’t have good education before so they fail to guide the children into the good character. Moreover some of them help the children to get close to the hell. Sometimes they use objurgation to the children unconsciously, and the children will imitate it as their language in their development. It is able to fossilize in their mind and affecting the development of their character. This is the first failure of education to the younger’s character.

The second environment which has important role in constructing the character of the younger is school. School is the place where the younger get their formal education. It is the place where the younger are able to be taken care of three important aspects, such as Intellectual Question (IQ), Emotional Question (EQ), and Spiritual Question (SQ). IQ related to the ability of the younger as students to get the knowledge taught by the teachers. On the other hand EQ and SQ are more related to the personality of the students including the development of their character. Many teachers work hard to enhance the IQ of their students to a very high level without paying attention to the development of their EQ and SQ which affect the character of the students very much. Although the latest curriculum demanded the teachers to imply the education of students’ character in schools, but the implementation did not work as well as what is hoped. Many teachers avoid the education of character and just focus in the intellectual of the students that makes the good in intellectual but bad in character. This is second failure of character education of the younger.

The third environment that has important role toward the construction of the younger’s character is society. In this environment, the younger spend almost all their time to interact each other. The younger tend to model upon everything in the society where they live. For example when they live in a society where the people are work harder, then they will be work harders. On the other hand, when they live in a society where the people are alcoholic drinkers, then step by step the will be drinkers. The unluckiness is the societies nowadays especially in the cities don’t care about the younger development. Nowadays, something like living together without married, pregnancy before married, and so on, have become habits in the society. So the younger never feel that they are in the wrong way when do something like that. This is the third failure of education of the character of the younger. Actually there are still many factors that affect the behaviour of the younger, but the three stated above are most influence aspects which affect that.

Due to the problem above, through this article I want to ask all sides who take responsibility on the younger development to pay more attention to character of the younger, because if they have good character all aspect of their life will work well. On the other hand if they lost their good character, then they will lose all their life. For the parents as the first side who educate the younger to pay more attention to the character/moral of the children. For the teachers and all sides in schools to not only focus in IQ development but also EQ and SQ so they can work in a balance. The last one is for society to give good model for the younger to act so they are able to imitate and develop good characters they see from the society. I believe that if tazhese three environments (Family, School, and Society) can do their role well to take care of the younger character, then the problem of bad moral of the younger as that one reported by Metro TV above can be solve easily.
